Every year we run a Young Musician of the Year competition.  This year it will be held on Sunday, 5th November 2017 at 2.30 pm in Toddington Village Hall, Leighton Road, Toddington, Bedfordshire.  The competition is open to any young musician from Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire or Buckinghamshire aged between 12 and 18.  To enter, you will need to fill in an application form TODDINGTON YOUNG MUSICIAN OF THE YEAR 2017 APPLICATION FORM and return it to the address shown at the bottom of the form by 29th September 2017.  From the application forms, the committee select between 6 and 8 applicants to actually compete on the day.  Selection is based on the grades acheived and on the experience and ambitions the applicant can show in filling in their form.  Many of our applicants from previous years have reached high grades in more than one instrument but we do suggest that, in the competition, they concentrate on the one with which they feel most confident to give them the best chance of success.

The first prize is £500 with a runner-up prize of £100.  Why not enter now!  We look forward to hearing from you.

We ask the winner to play for our AGM concert in the following February and they can then play any instrument and bring along friends to accompany them.  We have had some wonderful concerts from these enthusiastic and talented young players.
